An unnamed company has expressed interest in acquiring Bally's Corp.'s $1.1bn A's Vegas baseball park project, under construction on the site of the demolished Tropicana casino in Las Vegas. Clark County Commission confirmed that the entitlement package would transfer to a new owner if a deal closes.
Bally's said it is prepared to move forward with the first phase of its integrated development if the sale does not materialise. Management expressed confidence in backing from financial partners. The county commission has already approved land-use permits for a multi-level podium and a 2,500-seat theatre. Hotel and casino permits are scheduled for review on 16 September.
County spokesperson Jennifer Cooper explained that the commission approved the portion of Bally's application covering parking and podium to ensure safe pedestrian access from sidewalks and bridges to the stadium. The project's towers have not yet received Federal Aviation Administration clearance and were not considered. Cooper noted that permits are tied to the land, not the developer — another company could use them.
Phase one includes the stadium, parking for 1,500 vehicles and a central utility plant. Phase two has been updated to add the multi-level podium, three-level parking structure, the 2,500-seat theatre, restaurants and retail space. The casino resort is planned for the third phase.
The project has drawn attention amid active development on the Las Vegas Strip. February Strip revenues recovered on the back of a baccarat boom and rising visitor numbers.
