What voice-call does

The skill wires an agent to the voice-call plugin. It can start a call, keep the conversation going, speak a line, and hang up. Providers are Twilio, Telnyx and Plivo. A mock provider runs without network access, which helps during testing.

From the CLI you start a call with openclaw voicecall call --to "+15555550123" --message "Hello from OpenClaw" and check it with openclaw voicecall status --call-id . Inside an agent, the voice_call tool exposes initiate_call, continue_call, speak_to_user, end_call and get_status.

Enable the plugin first: the skill requires plugins.entries.voice-call.enabled. Settings live under plugins.entries.voice-call.config. Twilio needs twilio.accountSid, twilio.authToken and fromNumber; Telnyx needs telnyx.apiKey, telnyx.connectionId and fromNumber; Plivo needs plivo.authId, plivo.authToken and fromNumber. Without provider credentials you are left with mock. Install it if calls belong in your workflow. Otherwise text replies are enough.

What it helps with

  • call a number and speak a message out loud
  • continue an open call with another line
  • check a call's status by its id
  • end a call from inside the agent
  • rehearse a call flow in mock mode with no network

Example prompts for the agent

  • call +15555550123 and say "Hello from OpenClaw"
  • show the status of this call id
  • end the current call

# Voice Call

Use the voice-call plugin to start or inspect calls (Twilio, Telnyx, Plivo, or mock).

## CLI

```bash
openclaw voicecall call --to "+15555550123" --message "Hello from OpenClaw"
openclaw voicecall status --call-id <id>
```

## Tool

Use `voice_call` for agent-initiated calls.

Actions:

- `initiate_call` (message, to?, mode?)
- `continue_call` (callId, message)
- `speak_to_user` (callId, message)
- `end_call` (callId)
- `get_status` (callId)

Notes:

- Requires the voice-call plugin to be enabled.
- Plugin config lives under `plugins.entries.voice-call.config`.
- Twilio config: `provider: "twilio"` + `twilio.accountSid/authToken` + `fromNumber`.
- Telnyx config: `provider: "telnyx"` + `telnyx.apiKey/connectionId` + `fromNumber`.
- Plivo config: `provider: "plivo"` + `plivo.authId/authToken` + `fromNumber`.
- Dev fallback: `provider: "mock"` (no network).
