What video-downloader does

The skill lets your agent fetch videos from YouTube and other platforms into a local folder. You choose the resolution — 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K — and the container: MP4, WebM, or audio alone. Title, description and thumbnail come along with the file, so an archive stays searchable instead of turning into anonymous clips.

Playlists work too. Ask for a whole list, or hand over several links at once. For podcasts and music, audio-only is the sensible pick since the file stays small. On a slow connection, check the size first: an hour-long talk at 1080p is a heavy download.

The skill is meant for personal, educational and archival use. Grabbing someone else's content without permission and passing it around is a different matter — copyright and platform terms still apply.

What it helps with

  • keep a conference talk for offline viewing
  • rip the audio track out of a video as MP3
  • grab every clip in a playlist in one go
  • pull your own uploads down for editing
  • archive a video together with its title and thumbnail

Example prompts for the agent

  • Download this YouTube video at 1080p
  • Save the audio from this video as MP3
  • Download every video in this playlist
