nestjs-expert · davila7 — Claude Code skill: Nest.js expertise on demand
A Claude skill that brings Nest.js knowledge into your session: modules, dependency injection, testing, and auth.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill development/nestjs-expertWhat nestjs-expert does
This skill makes Claude act as a Nest.js specialist. It covers module architecture, dependency injection, decorators, middleware, guards, interceptors, and pipes. Ask it about a problem in your Nest.js app and it inspects the project first with Read, Grep, and Glob, checks the framework version and module layout, then works out a fix.
Testing and databases get their own coverage. The skill uses @nestjs/testing, Jest, and Supertest for tests, and @nestjs/typeorm or @nestjs/mongoose for data layers, including transactions and migrations. Authentication runs through @nestjs/passport and @nestjs/jwt. Validation follows a fixed order: typecheck, unit tests, integration tests, e2e tests. If your problem is not really about Nest.js, the skill says so and points you to a better-suited subagent — typescript-type-expert for pure type issues, for instance.
Diagnostic commands are built in: they look for nest-cli.json, check package.json for @nestjs/core, and detect which integrations are wired up. The skill advises one-shot checks only, no watch or serve processes. Install it with npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill development/nestjs-expert.
What it helps with
- untangle circular dependencies between modules
- set up providers and injection tokens correctly
- write Supertest e2e tests for a controller
- wire up a Passport JWT strategy with guards
- trace the execution order of middleware, guards, and interceptors
Example prompts for the agent
- Why is there a circular dependency between
UsersModuleandAuthModule? - Write a Supertest e2e test for
AppController - Set up a Passport JWT strategy in this project
