connection-agent — Claude Code subagent for Obsidian vault links
Scans an Obsidian vault for notes that belong together, flags notes with no links, and writes up link suggestions for you to review.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent obsidian-ops-team/connection-agentWhat connection-agent does
This subagent hunts for relationships between notes. It groups entries that name the same people, projects or tools, spots overlapping terminology, and lists notes that nothing points to and that point nowhere. The output is a set of suggested links ranked by confidence and by how many entities two notes share.
Most of the work runs through link_suggester.py, kept in System_Files/Scripts/. The agent calls it, then reads the reports it leaves behind: Link_Suggestions_Report.md, Orphaned_Content_Connection_Report.md and Orphaned_Nodes_Connection_Summary.md. Directory proximity and tags count as hints too.
The script path and report locations in the agent definition point at one specific vault, /Users/cam/VAULT01/. Use it on another machine and those paths have to be edited first, or the run goes nowhere. Nothing gets linked automatically either — you get a review file and apply the good suggestions yourself.
What it helps with
- find scattered notes about the same person or project
- surface notes with no incoming or outgoing links
- get a ranked list of candidate links
- map clusters of related notes and the gaps between them
- produce a report you can work through by hand
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
link_suggester.pyand list the notes worth linking together - Find unlinked notes in the vault and suggest where each one belongs
- Group connections by shared technology and sort them by confidence
