toc-generator — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
A compatibility stub: table of contents building now lives in Bricks, and this skill only points you to the successor.
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill toc-generator -a claude-code
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill toc -a claude-codeWhat toc-generator does
This skill no longer builds anything. There are no component rules inside, just a note that table of contents construction moved to Bricks, the component layer for AI agents. Install it only if you want the pointer to the new tool.
How it works: the skill tells the agent to reach for component-builder from the kostja94/bricks repository. The successor installs with npx skills add kostja94/bricks --skill component-builder. After that, ask the agent to build a table of contents through component-builder.
The old entry is unmaintained. If toc is already wired into your configs or scripts, nothing breaks, but no updates will arrive — that is your cue to move to Bricks.
What it helps with
- find where table of contents building moved
- install the current component instead of the old skill
- switch the agent over to
component-builderfrom Bricks - understand why
toc-generatorstopped getting updates
Example prompts for the agent
- install component-builder and build a new table of contents
- what should I use instead of toc-generator for a table of contents?
