What angular-component does

angular-component lived in the analogjs/angular-skills repo and covered Angular 20+ components: standalone setup, signal-based inputs and outputs, OnPush, host bindings, content projection, lifecycle hooks. It is deprecated.

The maintainers pulled the guidance instead of leaving it to rot. SKILL.md now carries only the status notice; the old text stays in the repo's git history. So an install still lands the file at ~/.claude/skills/angular-component/SKILL.md and your agent reads a stub. Worth a look at your skills folder before you trust it.

Use the official Angular skills in the angular/skills repo. They go in through the same npx skills add. Already have the old one? npx skills remove analogjs/angular-skills.

What it helps with

  • check whether the installed skill still holds any component guidance
  • remove analogjs/angular-skills from a project
  • swap in the official Angular skills
  • recover the old standalone-component guide from git history
  • confirm which file sits at ~/.claude/skills/angular-component/SKILL.md

Example prompts for the agent

  • Open ~/.claude/skills/angular-component/SKILL.md and tell me if the component guide is still there
  • Remove the angular-component skill from this project and install the official Angular skills
  • Dig up the older version of the signal inputs guide from the analogjs/angular-skills git history

Questions about angular-component

How do I install angular-component in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-component -a claude-code. The skill file ends up at ~/.claude/skills/angular-component/SKILL.md.

What does angular-component do?

It told the agent how to build Angular 20+ standalone components with signal inputs and outputs, OnPush change detection and host bindings. The guidance itself has been removed and only the deprecation notice is left.

What should I use instead?

The official Angular skills in the angular/skills repo, installed with the same npx skills add. Clear the old one first with npx skills remove analogjs/angular-skills.
