What angular-forms does

The angular-forms skill from analogjs/angular-skills is marked deprecated. Nobody maintains it, and the guidance was pulled out instead of being left to go stale. What sits in SKILL.md now is a notice about that; the old text is still in the repository's git history.

It targeted Signal Forms in Angular v21+: two-way binding, schema-based validation, field state, dynamic forms. Fine for a new signal-based project back then, except the walkthrough is gone from the package. If you came for Signal Forms guidance, this skill no longer carries it. Check what you are actually installing.

The replacement comes from the Angular team itself: official Angular skills in the angular/skills repository, added with the same npx skills add command pointed at that repo. To strip the old package, run npx skills remove analogjs/angular-skills.

What it helps with

  • check whether the skill is still alive before it lands in your project
  • strip the unmaintained package from the agent config
  • find a current replacement for signal-based forms
  • tell the team where the Signal Forms guide went

Example prompts for the agent

  • check whether the angular-forms skill is still maintained
  • remove analogjs/angular-skills from this project
  • what should I use instead of angular-forms for signal forms in Angular v21?

name: angular-forms
description: DEPRECATED - this skill is unmaintained. Use the official Angular skills at https://github.com/angular/skills instead. Build signal-based forms in Angular v21+ using the new Signal Forms API. Use for form creation with automatic two-way binding, schema-based validation, field state management, and dynamic forms. Triggers on form implementation, adding validation, creating multi-step forms, or building forms with conditional fields. Signal Forms are experimental but recommended for new Angular projects. Don't use for template-driven forms without signals or third-party form libraries like Formly or ngx-formly.
