speckit-converge — Claude Code skill: validate code against spec
Compares your current codebase against requirements in spec.md, plan.md, and tasks.md, then appends unfinished work as new tasks to tasks.md. Works with spec-kit project structure.
npx skills add dceoy/speckit-agent-skills --skill speckit-converge -a claude-codeWhat speckit-converge does
Run this skill after /speckit-implement completes all current tasks. It reads your specification, plan, and task list; scans the codebase for compliance; and identifies which requirements, acceptance criteria, and architecture decisions remain unbuilt or incomplete. Each gap becomes a new task appended to tasks.md, so implement knows what comes next.
The skill operates within projects that follow the spec-kit layout, with a .specify/ directory for specs and metadata. It preserves all existing tasks, leaves spec.md and plan.md untouched, and makes no changes to your code—only appends new tasks to complete the feature. When the code already satisfies all requirements, tasks.md remains unchanged.
It also validates your code against project principles defined in .specify/memory/constitution.md, if present, and flags violations as remediation tasks.
What it helps with
- identify unimplemented requirements from spec.md
- detect gaps between plan.md decisions and actual codebase structure
- append missing work to the task queue without rewriting existing tasks
- validate code compliance with project constitution principles
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
/speckit-convergeto check whether your plan is fully built - After finishing all tasks in
tasks.md, run/speckit-convergeto see what remains - Use
/speckit-convergeto ensure your codebase matches the architecture inplan.md

Questions about speckit-converge
How do I install speckit-converge in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add dceoy/speckit-agent-skills --skill speckit-converge -a claude-code in your terminal, then open ~/.claude/skills/speckit-converge/SKILL.md.
What does speckit-converge do?
It reads your specification, plan, and task list, then scans the codebase to find requirements that are unmet, incomplete, or only partially satisfied. Each gap becomes a traceable task appended to tasks.md for the next implementation cycle.
When should I run speckit-converge?
After /speckit-implement finishes all current tasks in tasks.md and /speckit-tasks has produced a complete task list.
