slide-creator — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Builds 16:9 presentation slide decks using HTML and CSS, then renders them to PDF via headless Chromium.
npx skills add Starchild-ai-agent/official-skills --skill slide-creator -a claude-codeWhat slide-creator does
This skill generates presentations as web layouts and exports them to 16:9 PDF files. It uses CSS Grid and Flexbox instead of slide editing software. Output is strictly PDF rather than PowerPoint (.pptx), which keeps fonts, layouts, and colors intact across operating systems.
The process starts by selecting a scenario, such as an investor pitch, a keynote, or a research report. When no visual guidelines are supplied, the skill runs an art direction step: it asks 4 questions about your audience and style, renders 3 live preview options on a local page, and records the choice in style-brief.md.
Exporting to PDF depends on the playwright and PyMuPDF Python packages. You must install those pip dependencies beforehand, or the build pipeline will fail when headless Chromium attempts to print the HTML slides.
What it helps with
- generate a 16:9 investor pitch deck as a PDF
- build conference slides with CSS Grid and web typography
- preview visual themes side by side before generating full decks
- embed corporate logos and brand colors across all slides
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a 10-slide pitch deck for our funding round and export to PDF
- Build a conference keynote deck and show me 3 style previews first
- Generate a research report presentation in 16:9 aspect ratio
