pptx-visual-assets — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Places approved icons, images, SVGs, and diagrams onto editable PPTX decks with precise bounding boxes and verified rights.
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
/plugin install pptx-deck-creation@claude-code-workflowsWhat pptx-visual-assets does
This skill guides the agent when selecting and inserting visuals into PowerPoint decks. Before placing any file, it verifies the local path, provenance, licensing rights, and alt text. Assets are added with inch bounding boxes, explicit z-index order, and a classification of either content or layout_design. Aspect ratios remain intact so images do not distort readable text.
The rules prevent fake vector graphics. Raster images disguised inside an SVG wrapper are banned. Captions must sit beside pictures rather than over them, and all labels, legends, or workflow steps must remain native PowerPoint shapes. If clear rights or suitable files are missing, the agent skips the visual and reports the gap instead of inserting a placeholder.
Install this skill if you generate presentation decks with coding agents and need clean files that stay editable.
What it helps with
- place SVG diagrams without locking text labels into flattened rasters
- enforce inch bounding boxes and z-index ordering across slide layers
- record asset licensing and source details in the deck manifest
- block placeholder images when verified visual assets are missing
Example prompts for the agent
- Add the diagram from assets/flowchart.svg to slide 4 using native PowerPoint text for labels
- Position the approved product icon next to the heading with a preserved aspect ratio

--- name: pptx-visual-assets description: "Use when selecting and placing approved supporting icons, images, SVGs, diagrams, or infographics in an editable PPTX deck." --- # PPTX Visual Assets Use visual assets to support a slide's message, never to flatten or replace editable content. ## Workflow 1. Select the asset type only when it improves comprehension: icon, image, SVG, diagram, or infographic. 2. Confirm the local asset path, source, usage rights, and concise alt text before placement. 3. Add the asset with a final inch bbox, deliberate z-index, and `content` or `layout_design` classification. 4. Preserve aspect ratio and check that no asset covers readable text or leaves essential information locked in an image. ## Rules - Use simple, legible icons alongside text labels. - Place captions beside images rather than over them. - Use true SVG sources only when they are clean vectors; never wrap a raster image in SVG and call it editable. - Recreate essential labels, legends, values, and process steps with native PowerPoint objects. - If rights, provenance, or a suitable asset are unavailable, omit the asset and report the gap. Never add a placeholder as a finished visual. - Record provider or source details in the source manifest. Never request secrets in chat. See `references/asset-guidance.md` for licensing, placement, and SVG constraints.
