picoclaw-ai-assistant — Claude Code skill: setup and installation
Get guidance for installing PicoClaw, configuring an LLM provider and running it on a Linux device or with Docker Compose.
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill picoclaw-ai-assistant -a claude-codeWhat picoclaw-ai-assistant does
This skill walks through using a release binary, compiling PicoClaw from source, or launching it with Docker Compose. For initial setup, picoclaw onboard creates a configuration file and workspace; model settings go in ~/.picoclaw/config.json.
Choose a provider using the openai/, anthropic/ or volcengine/ prefix, then set the model and its API credentials. Tavily and Brave Search are available as optional web-search integrations. You need an API key for the LLM provider you choose, and web search also needs its own key. The configuration can read keys from environment variables instead of storing them directly.
The guide covers builds for ARM, MIPS and RISC-V, interactive chat, and single-message runs. Docker Compose includes gateway, web-console and one-shot agent modes. Building from source uses the project’s Go build targets, including make deps and make build.
What it helps with
- install PicoClaw from a release binary
- compile PicoClaw for a Raspberry Pi
- set a model and API credentials in the config
- enable Tavily or Brave Search
