What linear-dev-accelerator does

This skill teaches your AI assistant how to interact with the Linear workspace using MCP tool schemas. It guides the model through routines for searching, filing, and modifying tasks, including fetching issue details alongside linked Git branch metadata.

Beyond single issues, the skill covers project creation with target dates, label management across teams, and status updates. Search filters handle parameters such as assignees, cycles, and priority levels from 0 to 4, fetching up to 250 records per request.

You must have a functional Linear MCP server configured in your editor. Without an active MCP bridge, the assistant understands the parameters but cannot reach the workspace.

What it helps with

  • create Linear issues with priorities, checklists, and estimates
  • filter active bugs assigned to the current user
  • update issue states and inspect related Git branches
  • set up development projects with target dates and summaries

Example prompts for the agent

  • List all issues assigned to me in the In Progress state
  • Create a high-priority bug report in team Backend for auth token expiration
  • Fetch details for project Mobile App v2.0 including timeline and lead
