apache-airflow-orchestration · manutej — Claude Code skill for Airflow DAGs
A skill for Apache Airflow work: writing DAGs, wiring task dependencies, branching, and getting pipelines ready for production.
npx skills add manutej/luxor-claude-marketplace --skill apache-airflow-orchestration -a claude-codeWhat apache-airflow-orchestration does
The skill covers DAG development in Python: task definitions, dependencies with >> and <<, chain() and cross_downstream(), branching via BranchPythonOperator or a custom class on BaseBranchOperator, and grouping with TaskGroups. Operators, sensors, XCom communication, dynamic workflows and deployment options each get their own section.
Inside is a reference for the core Airflow pieces: DAG properties (dag_id, start_date, schedule, catchup, tags, default_args), operator types from BashOperator to custom ones, executors from SequentialExecutor to KubernetesExecutor, and starting the scheduler with airflow scheduler. Code samples import from airflow.sdk and airflow.providers.standard.
One thing to watch: the examples label SequentialExecutor as local and not meant for production. If you run a live environment, that is a reason to check which executor is actually configured. The skill installs into Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.
What it helps with
- build a DAG with sequential and parallel tasks
- branch on a date condition with BranchPythonOperator
- pass data between tasks through XCom
- generate tasks in a loop and chain them
- pick an executor for the load and start the scheduler
Example prompts for the agent
- Write a DAG that runs two BashOperators in sequence every day at midnight
- Add branching: on the first day of the month run monthly_task, otherwise daily_task
- Generate five EmptyOperators in a loop and chain them together
