What iii-core-primitives does

This skill guides agents through building on the iii runtime. It explains how to register functions using identifiers like orders::validate, configure worker processes in Python or TypeScript, and select execution modes. Immediate calls run synchronously, while background tasks with retry policies rely on TriggerAction.Enqueue().

In engine version 0.25, built-in sources such as http or cron still require registerTrigger, because these providers have not moved to source functions yet. Because of that, each call logs an informational deprecation warning, though the binding works as expected. Local worker processes are declared using the iii.worker.yaml file.

What it helps with

  • register local and HTTP-backed functions in iii workers
  • configure async retries using queue-based invocation
  • bind HTTP routes and cron schedules to target handlers
  • query live engine workers and functions through discovery APIs

Example prompts for the agent

  • Register an orders::validate function with an HTTP POST trigger
  • Create a iii.worker.yaml manifest for a Python worker
  • Set up an asynchronous worker task using TriggerAction.Enqueue

Questions about iii-core-primitives

How to install iii-core-primitives in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add iii-hq/iii --skill iii-core-primitives -a claude-code in your terminal.

What does the iii-core-primitives skill do?

It teaches the agent how to wire functions, triggers, and workers in the iii runtime. It covers sync and queued execution, namespace resolution, and engine discovery calls.

Why does version 0.25 still require registerTrigger for cron and HTTP?

Built-in event providers have not fully migrated to observable source functions yet. Calling registerTrigger logs a single deprecation warning per process, but execution continues normally.
