seo-audit · cognyai — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Runs technical and content SEO audits for any site. Works out of the box using public page markup, and pulls verified Search Console and Bing data via Cogny MCP.
npx skills add cognyai/claude-code-marketing-skills --skill seo-audit -a claude-codeWhat seo-audit does
The skill analyzes markup, meta tags, and indexing signals for the provided URL. Standard fetch utilities skip the document <head>, so this skill retrieves the raw HTML through curl via Bash to extract title, Open Graph meta tags, canonical links, and application/ld+json schemas.
Basic audits require no accounts: the assistant reads public code, parses sitemap.xml, and scans web results. When the Cogny gateway (https://app.cogny.com/mcp) is declared inside .mcp.json, the audit swaps estimated data for direct queries, impressions, and index status from Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Semrush, and Ahrefs.
Without the Cogny server connected, the skill limits its report to what is visible in raw HTTP responses and standard search indices.
