centos-linux-triage — GitHub Copilot skill: install
This skill diagnoses and fixes CentOS issues with RHEL-compatible commands, SELinux-aware checks, and firewalld guidance. Use it for server triage.
npx skills add github/awesome-copilot --skill centos-linux-triageWhat centos-linux-triage does
centos-linux-triage takes a CentOS version, a problem summary, and optional constraints. It first checks the CentOS release, including whether the system uses Stream or legacy, then guides diagnosis with systemctl, journalctl, dnf or yum, and system logs.
The skill provides copy-paste-ready remediation commands, verification after major changes, and rollback or cleanup steps. It brings in SELinux and firewalld checks when they relate to the issue. Install it when GitHub Copilot is helping maintain CentOS systems; it is a poor fit for unrelated operating systems or application-only tasks.
What it helps with
- trace a failed CentOS service
- inspect system logs with
journalctl - repair package issues with
dnforyum - check SELinux denials and
firewalldrules - plan rollback after a system change
Example prompts for the agent
- Triage this CentOS service failure with `systemctl`, `journalctl`, and the relevant logs, then give remediation commands.
- Check whether SELinux or `firewalld` is causing this error and include validation after each major change.
- Build a CentOS Stream troubleshooting plan for this problem, including cleanup or rollback steps.
