threejs-loaders · calesthio — Claude Code skill: load 3D models and textures
A skill for Three.js asset loading: GLTF models, textures, HDR environments, and progress tracking via LoadingManager. Use it to add 3D scenes or import Blender models into your project.
npx skills add calesthio/OpenMontage --skill threejs-loaders -a claude-codeWhat threejs-loaders does
The skill provides templates for all main loader types: GLTFLoader for 3D models, TextureLoader for images, CubeTextureLoader for skyboxes, RGBELoader and EXRLoader for HDR environments. Includes LoadingManager setup to track progress across multiple assets, texture configuration (color space, wrapping, filtering, anisotropy), and post-load model processing (shadows, object lookup, scaling).
Once loaded, access animations, cameras, and custom data from your editor directly. For large models, Draco compression and KTX2 textures reduce file size. The skill has examples for PMREMGenerator with PBR and scene traversal via traverse().
Requires Three.js and its addons. If using compressed-model.glb, you'll need the Draco decoder from Google's CDN.
What it helps with
- load a GLTF model into the scene with animations
- configure textures with repeat, offset, and filtering
- track loading progress across multiple assets
- set an HDR environment for realistic lighting
- compress 3D models without quality loss
Example prompts for the agent
- Load model.glb into the scene and play its animations
- Set up texture loading with 2x2 repeat and linear filtering
- Display loading progress for all assets via LoadingManager

Questions about threejs-loaders
How do I install threejs-loaders in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add calesthio/OpenMontage --skill threejs-loaders -a claude-code, then open ~/.claude/skills/threejs-loaders/SKILL.md for full templates and examples.
What does threejs-loaders do?
Provides ready-made examples for loading 3D models (GLTF, GLB), textures (JPG, PNG), HDR environments, managing load progress with LoadingManager, and processing loaded content in your scene.
What dependencies are required?
Three.js and its modules (GLTFLoader, TextureLoader, RGBELoader, etc. from three/addons). For compressed models, DRACOLoader needs access to the decoder on a CDN.
