What c-display does

The skill uses brightness to read or change display brightness. Values run from 0.0 to 1.0, and brightness -l lists displays when more than one monitor is connected. The trash command moves files and folders to the macOS Trash; use --interactive to request confirmation.

Its guidance favors trash when a file might need to be recovered. Reserve rm for temporary or generated files that do not need recovery. One constraint matters: trash here targets the macOS Trash, so it is not a general-purpose recycle bin for other systems.

What it helps with

  • set display brightness to a chosen level
  • check brightness across connected displays
  • move files or folders to the macOS Trash
  • ask for confirmation before moving a file to Trash

Example prompts for the agent

  • Set my display brightness to 80 percent.
  • Show the current brightness on all displays.
  • Move file.txt to the Trash instead of permanently deleting it.

# Display & Safety

## brightness

```bash
# Get current brightness (0.0 to 1.0)
brightness -l
# Set brightness to 80%
brightness 0.8
# Set brightness to minimum
brightness 0.0
# Set brightness to maximum
brightness 1.0
```

## trash (macos-trash)

Safe alternative to `rm` — moves files to macOS Trash:

```bash
# Move file to trash
trash file.txt
# Move multiple files
trash file1.txt file2.txt dir/
# Move with confirmation prompt
trash --interactive file.txt
```

## Guidelines

- Use `trash` instead of `rm` when the user might want to recover files
- Use `rm` only for temporary/generated files where recovery isn't needed
- Brightness value is 0.0 (off) to 1.0 (max)
- `brightness -l` lists all displays when multiple monitors connected
