c-bluetooth — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Controls Bluetooth connections on macOS using the blu CLI. It lets your coding agent inspect and switch paired audio gear or keyboards.
npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-bluetooth -a claude-codeWhat c-bluetooth does
This skill guides coding agents through managing macOS Bluetooth devices with the blucli (blu) command-line tool. It lists paired hardware using blu list and connects or disconnects accessories by device name or MAC address. Connection status can be confirmed at any point with blu status.
Device names are case-sensitive. When a name lookup fails, the agent falls back to the hardware MAC address. The tool cannot pair brand-new hardware; initial pairing must happen beforehand in macOS System Settings. You also need blucli installed on your machine (brew install blucli) and Bluetooth turned on in macOS.
What it helps with
- connect headphones, speakers, or keyboards by name or MAC address
- disconnect active Bluetooth hardware via the terminal
- list paired and known macOS devices
- check current Bluetooth connection status
Example prompts for the agent
- List all paired Bluetooth devices on this Mac
- Connect to my AirPods Pro using blu
- Disconnect device AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF and verify the status

Questions about c-bluetooth
How do I install c-bluetooth in Claude Code?
Run npx skills add daxaur/openpaw --skill c-bluetooth -a claude-code in your terminal.
What does c-bluetooth do?
It gives the agent instructions for managing existing macOS Bluetooth devices via blucli. The model can check connections, list known accessories, and toggle them by name or MAC address.
Can c-bluetooth pair a brand new device?
No, blu manages devices that are already paired. You must pair new accessories manually through macOS System Settings first.

--- name: c-bluetooth description: Manage Bluetooth devices on macOS using the blucli (`blu`) CLI. List paired and available devices, connect to headphones/speakers/keyboards, and disconnect devices by name or MAC address. tags: [bluetooth, hardware, macos, devices, audio] --- ## What This Skill Does Manages Bluetooth device connections on macOS using `blu` (blucli). You can list available devices, connect to a device by name or MAC address, and disconnect active devices. ## CLI Tool: `blu` ### Common Commands ```bash # List all paired/known devices blu list # Connect to a device (by name or MAC) blu connect "AirPods Pro" blu connect AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF # Disconnect a device blu disconnect "AirPods Pro" blu disconnect AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF # Check connection status blu status ``` ## Usage Guidelines 1. Run `blu list` first to identify the exact device name or MAC address. 2. Device names are case-sensitive — use the exact name from `blu list`. 3. If connecting by name fails, fall back to MAC address. 4. After connecting, confirm success by checking for a non-error exit code or running `blu status`. ## Notes - `blu` only manages already-paired devices. New device pairing must be done via macOS System Settings. - Some commands may require Bluetooth to be enabled in macOS before running. - If `blu` is not installed: `brew install blucli`
