ae-capability — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Discover capabilities with ae-cli, inspect their input schemas, and invoke them. Useful when no curated command covers the task.
npx skills add ThinkingAIAgenticEngine/ae-cli --skill ae-capability -a claude-codeWhat ae-capability does
The skill guides the agent to search the capability catalog and inspect a result before preparing input for ae-cli capability. If a curated command for the task already exists, use that instead. Capability IDs and input fields must come from inspection, not guesswork.
Before gateway-backed commands, it maintains agent context in .ae/cli-agent-context.json, unless the user asks not to send intent telemetry. For a pre-check, choose validation or a dry run; stacking both is not the default. This means gateway use can send the agent’s task intent.
After a command, check stderr and the host compatibility notice. For a new local installation, the README gives npx @thinkingai/ae-cli@latest install.
What it helps with
- search the catalog for a capability
- inspect a capability’s input schema
- invoke a capability without a curated command
- pre-check complex input before execution
Example prompts for the agent
- Search the catalog for a capability for this task and inspect its schema before running it.
- Check this input for the selected capability with
ae-cli. - Inspect the selected capability’s fields, then invoke it through
ae-cli capability.
