gjkim-instruction — Claude Code skill: purpose and setup
This skill keeps a root brief for long-running agent loops, separating required outcomes and approved choices from unresolved implementation details.
npx skills add gjkim42/kanon-repo --skill gjkim-instruction -a claude-codeWhat gjkim-instruction does
The skill creates and maintains gjkim_instruction.md at the project root. The file records the effort’s goal, its smallest required outcomes, explicit non-goals, and decisions the user has approved. Each recorded decision includes a date and a short reason.
A section for unresolved choices can be added when useful. Implementation specifics, task tracking, progress notes, and speculative designs stay outside the root brief. If a library or schema has not been approved, the skill leaves it undecided, so an early guess does not become a rule for later iterations.
It is available for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. Claude Code installation uses npx and the gjkim42/kanon-repo repository.
What it helps with
- capture the goal of a long-running agent loop
- separate outcomes from implementation choices
- record approved decisions with dates and reasons
- keep undecided options visible
- prevent early guesses from constraining later iterations
Example prompts for the agent
- Create
gjkim_instruction.mdat the project root and add the loop goal plus its minimum required outcomes. - Record the approved choice in
gjkim_instruction.mdwith today’s date and a short reason. - Review
gjkim_instruction.mdbefore the next iteration and distinguish settled points from open choices.
