What dataverse-sdk-for-python does

The plugin adds four slash commands to GitHub Copilot. Each one produces Python snippets: SDK setup, CRUD calls, bulk operations and paging. One command targets production code with error handling and optimization, another builds a full solution for a specific use case with architecture notes.

Install it with Copilot CLI: copilot plugin install dataverse-sdk-for-python@awesome-copilot. Inside are official Dataverse SDK patterns, code generation prompts and file operation examples. Commands are namespaced, so you call them as dataverse-sdk-for-python:.

Nothing here connects to your tenant or validates code against a live Dataverse. The output follows templates, so authentication, permissions and table schema are yours to check. Read the generated queries before running them.

What it helps with

  • generate Dataverse SDK connection code in Python
  • build CRUD calls with paging
  • write bulk operations with error handling
  • get production code with query optimization
  • design an architecture for a specific Dataverse use case
