zspace-cli — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Let an AI agent work with files and storage details on a ZSpace NAS. The ZSpace desktop client must be running on macOS.
claude mcp add zspace-cli -- uvx zspace-cliWhat zspace-cli does
The MCP tools let an agent browse NAS folders, search for files, transfer data, and rename, move, or copy items. It can also inspect pool usage, disk status, and recycle-bin contents. The zs command-line interface exposes these operations too.
Access goes through the logged-in ZSpace desktop client on macOS. Keep that client running; without it, the server cannot reach the NAS. To register the server with Claude Code, run claude mcp add zspace-cli -- uvx zspace-cli.
What it helps with
- locate a NAS file by name
- upload a local file to ZSpace
- download a file from the NAS
- inspect pool usage and disk health
- restore an item from the recycle bin
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the NAS file named “contract” and show its path.
- Upload
./report.pdfto/sata11/my/data. - Check storage usage for each pool.
