zendesk-mcp-server — Claude Code MCP server: setup
Connects an AI assistant to Zendesk for Help Center search, ticket work, and article editing. Useful when support tasks should stay in the chat.
claude mcp add --env ZENDESK_SUBDOMAIN=<ZENDESK_SUBDOMAIN> --transport stdio zendesk-mcp-server -- npx -y @fruggr/zendesk-mcp-serverWhat zendesk-mcp-server does
This server gives an assistant access to Zendesk Support and Help Center. It can find relevant articles, open and update tickets, change priority or assignee, add public replies and internal notes, and summarize a ticket thread. Images attached to tickets can be passed to the client model for inspection.
Knowledge-base work includes creating, translating, and revising articles section by section under h1, h2, and h3 headings. End users can submit requests, answer ticket replies, and track the request status through the Help Center flow. The server can run locally over stdio or as a private HTTP service.
Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 PKCE, with a separate Zendesk session for each user. Static API tokens and shared service accounts are not supported, so OAuth 2.1 PKCE is required for the connection.
What it helps with
- search Zendesk Help Center content
- open and update support tickets
- summarize a ticket conversation
- inspect an image attached to a ticket
- revise one section of a knowledge-base article
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the Help Center article about requesting a software license.
- Open a Zendesk ticket for a billing problem and add an internal note.
- Show my open billing tickets and summarize each one.
