x402-list-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Inspects x402 payment APIs before triggering a transaction, tracking uptime, pricing, and on-chain settlement numbers directly from your agent.
claude mcp add --transport http x402-list-mcp https://mcp.x402-list.com/mcpWhat x402-list-mcp does
The package acts as a light interface to the public x402-list JSON API. It does not touch databases, never alters registry records, and stores no keys.
Seven tools are exposed to the model. Six functions handle read-only queries free of charge. They search service listings, check uptime streaks, read USD pricing per endpoint, and inspect settlement volume. The seventh tool, x402_assess_services, is a paid benchmark costing 0.25 USDC on Base. It works strictly as a relay. You must sign the payment challenge on your client, because the server does not store private credentials or execute transfers.
You can point your client to the hosted HTTP endpoint or execute the npm package locally over stdio. Running it locally requires Node.js 20 or newer alongside npm.
What it helps with
- discover APIs accepting x402 micropayments
- verify endpoint response times and recent outages
- review on-chain facilitator settlement volume
- monitor payout address and pricing changes
Example prompts for the agent
- Search the x402 directory for transcription services sorted by uptime.
- Identify the top-ranked endpoint using x402_find_best_service.
- Review price and schema modifications via x402_change_events for the past 30 days.
