writbase — Claude Code MCP server: tasks and setup
writbase gives AI agents a persistent Supabase task registry with scoped access, delegation, and an audit trail through MCP.
claude mcp add --env WRITBASE_URL=<WRITBASE_URL> --env WRITBASE_AGENT_KEY=<WRITBASE_AGENT_KEY> --transport stdio writbase -- npx -y writbaseWhat writbase does
writbase connects an agent to a persistent task registry over MCP. Worker agents can inspect, create, and update tasks with filters, search, and pagination. Manager agents can administer keys, permissions, projects, departments, webhooks, and provenance records.
The service runs through a Supabase Edge Function backed by Postgres. Access is scoped to a project and department, while version checks catch conflicting updates. Setup needs Node 18+, the Supabase CLI, a Supabase project, and an agent key. The key is shown once, so save it before configuring the client.
What it helps with
- keep one task registry for several agents
- limit access by project and department
- delegate work between agents
- trace who changed a task and why
- catch conflicting task updates
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a task in
my-appto fix the login bug and assign it to the backend agent. - List high-priority tasks in
my-app. - Move the latest task to
in_progressand use its current version.
