WRDO — Claude Code MCP server: Cape Town businesses and menus
Adds a hosted MCP server for finding Western Cape businesses, menus and price lists, and for opening a request in WRDO. Nothing to run locally.
claude mcp add --transport http wrdo https://api.wrdo.co.za/mcpWhat WRDO does
WRDO is a remote MCP server speaking Streamable HTTP at https://api.wrdo.co.za/mcp. Point your assistant at that URL and ask in plain words; it picks the tool on its own. There is no sign-in, and every tool reads public data anonymously.
Five tools ship with it. search_local_businesses matches on name or trade, with optional filters for town or suburb, category, a rand ceiling and whether the place is open right now. list_categories reports which business types exist and how many of each. get_business returns one public page: category, area, verification status, plus description, address, hours, website and menu link for verified entries. get_price_list lists items with rand prices, and anything scraped from a business's own site is flagged as unconfirmed. start_request hands back a link the person opens to ask for a quote, booking or order.
Coverage is the Western Cape, Cape Town, Paarl and the Cape Winelands among it. Callers get 30 requests per minute. Bookings and payments never happen inside the assistant — the person finishes in WRDO, and only the business confirms a price. Responses carry public business information only: no phone numbers, no email addresses, no personal data.
What it helps with
- find a salon in a given Cape Town suburb
- shortlist Paarl restaurants with a dish under R100
- read one venue's menu and the price of a single item
- open a Saturday morning request with a hairdresser
- see which business categories exist in a town
Example prompts for the agent
- Find a hairdresser in Cape Town and show which ones are open now
- Which Paarl restaurants have something under R100 on the menu?
- What's on the menu at Breezy's, and what does the garlic and cheese pita cost?
