Urantia Papers — MCP server for Claude Code: setup and search
Give your coding agent access to Urantia Papers passages, contextual lookup, audio links, and cross-references with the Bible and other works for text research.
claude mcp add --transport http urantia-papers https://api.urantia.dev/mcpWhat Urantia Papers does
Urantia Papers connects an MCP client to an API for exploring the Urantia Papers. Agents can search by wording or meaning, retrieve a complete paper, inspect individual paragraphs, and fetch nearby passages for context. The service also exposes audio information, entity lookups, and citation generation in APA, MLA, Chicago, and BibTeX formats.
The server includes 26 tools, two resource templates, and two prompt templates named study_assistant and comparative_theology. Its cross-reference features support comparisons between Urantia Papers and Bible passages, along with parallel passages inside the Papers. This gives an agent a concrete workflow for locating a passage before examining related material.
Public API methods need no authentication. Personal features such as bookmarks, notes, and reading progress require a JWT. Connect through https://api.urantia.dev/mcp. Supported clients include Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI.
