The Scribble Thing — Claude Code MCP server: how to install
Converts PNG or JPEG outlines into hand-sketched MP4 video clips. It produces draft preview animations at no cost without profile registration.
claude mcp add --transport http the-scribble-thing https://scribble.boringstuff.club/mcpWhat The Scribble Thing does
This server links coding agents directly to an online video renderer. Feed it a PNG or JPEG line drawing, then guide the drawing sequence with plain instructions. You can decide which elements appear first. Showing a physical sketching hand in the frame is also an option.
Rendering runs in the background. The agent checks progress periodically and retrieves a temporary download link once the MP4 is ready. No login is needed to test it out. Preview drafts are free, but they include a watermark. Erasing that watermark requires a separate redemption code.
Session keys and task tokens are sensitive credentials. The agent must keep them out of standard chat logs and shared files. Because the tool runs over HTTP, local compilation is unnecessary.
What it helps with
- transform static line illustrations into drawn scribe videos
- control stroke order and direction across image components
- toggle visible drawing hands on or off in the final MP4
- discard finished animation jobs from remote storage on demand
Example prompts for the agent
- Convert
sketch.pnginto a scribe animation, drawing the header first and revealing the diagram from left to right. - Check the render status for my animation and retrieve the watermarked MP4 preview.
- Delete the completed animation from the remote server using its job token.
