telnyx — Claude Code MCP server: calls, SMS and numbers
Lets your AI assistant reach the Telnyx API: browse endpoints, fire test requests and wire the SDK into your app.
claude mcp add telnyx -e TELNYX_API_KEY=<TELNYX_API_KEY> -- npx -y telnyxWhat telnyx does
The server runs through npx -y telnyx over stdio. It exposes the Telnyx REST API, so the assistant can walk endpoints, make trial calls and pull docs while you integrate the official telnyx TypeScript library into a server-side project.
You need a TELNYX_API_KEY, passed as an environment variable when you add the server. Webhook verification also wants the public key, otherwise the signature will not match. Verify against the raw request body only — parse or re-serialize it before unwrap and the signature is invalid.
The library is generated with Stainless and covers calls, messages, number orders, audio transcription and webhook verification. Connection failures and retryable responses are retried twice by default; change that with maxRetries, either on the client or per request.
What it helps with
- find the right Telnyx endpoint and check its request shape
- send a test SMS through the API
- order a number from the available list
- verify an inbound webhook signature
- add the TypeScript SDK to a server-side project
Example prompts for the agent
- List the Telnyx endpoints for sending messages
- Make a test request to search available numbers in country US

telnyxinto my Node project for calls?
