Ssemble AI Clipping — Claude Code MCP server: clips, setup
This MCP server turns YouTube videos into short clips through Ssemble. Use it to submit jobs, follow processing, and collect finished videos from an AI assistant.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-server https://mcp.ssemble.com/mcpWhat Ssemble AI Clipping does
Ssemble AI Clipping connects Claude Code to Ssemble’s clipping engine. It can start a short-video job from a YouTube URL or an uploaded file, return a request ID, check progress, and fetch finished clips with video URLs, titles, and viral scores.
The server also exposes asset browsing for caption templates, background tracks, gameplay overlays, and meme hooks. You can poll the request status yourself or provide a webhookUrl; Ssemble then sends an HTTP POST when processing succeeds or fails, which fits n8n, Zapier, Make, or a custom backend. An active Ssemble subscription, an API key, and Node.js >= 18 are required.
What it helps with
- turn a YouTube video into short clips
- check the progress of a clipping request
- retrieve finished videos with their URLs
- browse caption and music assets
- send completed results to an automation webhook
Example prompts for the agent
- Create short clips from
https://youtube.com/watch?v=abc123using the first 10 minutes and calm background music. - Show the available caption templates and background tracks.
- Check my video request and return the finished clips.
