smartroutes — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect Claude Code to SmartRoutes data to inspect orders and routes or start route optimisation. Access requires a SmartRoutes API key.
claude mcp add --transport http smartroutes https://mcp.smartroutes.io/mcpWhat smartroutes does
The server gives an AI client tools to look up orders, customers, vehicles and route details. It can also create orders and start optimisation for a chosen date. Ask about unscheduled orders or inspect the stops on a route.
Connect over HTTP at https://mcp.smartroutes.io/mcp and authenticate with your SmartRoutes API key in the x-access-key header. To block changes, set x-access-scope: read-only; write tools are then removed from the available list. Take care with optimisation: auto-dispatch can publish a plan to drivers and notify customers. The API key grants access to account data, so keep it secret.
What it helps with
- find orders by status or order number
- check whether an address can be served in a time window
- inspect stops on a route
- create an order in SmartRoutes
- start route optimisation for a date
Example prompts for the agent
- Find orders that have not been scheduled yet.
- Check whether this address can be served during the selected time window.
- Start route optimisation for the requested date.
