saidsef-mcp-github-pr-issue-analyser — Claude Code MCP server for GitHub
Wires your agent into GitHub: reads pull requests, runs issues, tags commits and ships releases. Handy when review and task chores happen inside the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http saidsef-mcp-github-pr-issue-analyser https://server.smithery.ai/@saidsef/mcp-github-pr-issue-analyser/mcpWhat saidsef-mcp-github-pr-issue-analyser does
The server speaks stdio or HTTP and authenticates either with a static token or through a GitHub OAuth2 app. On the pull request side it pulls diffs, file contents, linked issues and CI status, and it can open PRs, comment, review, merge, close, retarget the base branch, apply labels and toggle draft state. Issues get created, updated, searched and assigned, with repository labels and milestones read along the way. Releases are covered too: tag a commit, publish, then edit or pull back what went out.
A few extra tool groups round it out. You can look up a user profile, contribution activity and star growth over GraphQL, list repositories owned by a user, an organisation or the caller, and read files or a directory listing pinned to a branch, tag or SHA.
Running it takes Python 3.14 plus a GitHub token carrying the repo and workflow scopes, or an OAuth app instead. A token without those scopes will not get through to the API. The complete tool list lives in docs/tools.md.
What it helps with
- pull diffs and CI status for an open pull request
- leave a review comment and fix one already posted
- file an issue and assign it to someone
- tag a commit and publish a release
- check contribution activity and star growth for a profile
Example prompts for the agent

- Tag the latest main commit as
v1.2.0and publish the release
