RationalBloks — Claude Code MCP server: APIs and setup
RationalBloks lets an AI agent deploy REST and Neo4j Graph APIs from JSON schemas on infrastructure you control. Use it to turn an API description into a deployed service.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.rationalbloks.com/What RationalBloks does
The MCP server exposes RationalBloks tools for projects, schemas, deployments, modules, object storage, and graph data. It can deploy APIs from JSON schemas, with hosting on infrastructure you own through self-hosting or your BYOC cluster. An API key is required.
The key’s scopes determine which tools appear: a read key exposes read operations, while a read-and-write key enables the full tool set. Operations that can remove data carry a destructive hint, and Claude Code permissions can ask for approval before those calls. Schema replacement and deletion can affect stored data, so configure permissions with care.
For a remote Claude Code connection, run claude mcp add --transport http rationalbloks https://mcp.rationalbloks.com/. Local setup uses uvx rationalbloks-mcp; the package can also be installed with pip install rationalbloks-mcp. Supported clients include Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI.
What it helps with
- deploy a REST API from a JSON schema
- build a Neo4j Graph API
- let an agent inspect RationalBloks projects and schemas
- require approval for data-destructive operations
Example prompts for the agent
- Create and deploy a REST API from this JSON schema for task tracking.
- Set up a Neo4j Graph API for links between projects and users.
- List my RationalBloks projects and inspect the current schema.
How to install RationalBloks
1Platform CLI: remote server
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.rationalbloks.com/2Platform CLI
claude mcp add --env RATIONALBLOKS_API_KEY=<RATIONALBLOKS_API_KEY> --transport stdio rationalbloks -- uvx rationalbloks-mcpReplace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from rationalbloks-mcp <command>

Questions about RationalBloks
How do I install RationalBloks in Claude Code?
To connect the remote server, run claude mcp add --transport http rationalbloks https://mcp.rationalbloks.com/. You’ll need a RationalBloks API key to use it.
What does RationalBloks do?
It gives an AI agent tools for RationalBloks projects, schemas, and deployments. The agent can use JSON schemas to deploy REST or Neo4j Graph APIs on infrastructure you control.
How can I restrict calls that may delete data?
Use a read-only API key to expose only read tools. In Claude Code, you can also set permission rules that request approval for calls that may cause data loss.
