RankControl — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects your coding agent to RankControl to monitor search rankings, plan content, and publish citation-ready articles directly to your CMS.
claude mcp add --transport http rankcontrol https://api.rctrl.com/mcpWhat RankControl does
This server bridges your assistant with the RankControl workspace. Seven specialized agents handle content planning, drafting, and publishing posts to CMS engines such as WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Notion, or headless setups. It also monitors shifts in search visibility and flags articles that lose traction.
Public-facing tasks stay guarded. Publishing posts and handling backlink outreach run as dry-run operations until you pass the --confirm parameter, with approval checks handled server-side.
You can wire it via the remote endpoint https://api.rctrl.com/mcp using HTTP transport or run it locally with npx. Running stdio locally requires setting the RANKCONTROL_API_KEY variable.
What it helps with
- monitor search engine positions and generative AI citations
- draft and push optimized posts straight to connected CMS platforms
- identify declining pages and refresh outdated text
- prepare link-building outreach drafts for review
Example prompts for the agent
- Check our current visibility metrics in search and AI answers
- Draft a new article for Webflow and push it using
--confirm - Review slipping blog posts and generate updated sections
