qaskills — Claude Code MCP server: find and install QA skills
An MCP server for the qaskills.sh catalog: your agent searches, inspects and installs QA skills — Playwright, Cypress, k6, OWASP and more.
claude mcp add --env QASKILLS_API_URL=<QASKILLS_API_URL> --transport stdio qaskills -- npx -y @qaskills/mcpWhat qaskills does
qaskills exposes six tools to the agent: search_skills, get_skill, get_skill_content, install_skill, list_categories, get_leaderboard. Search and install happen inside the chat, no terminal round-trip. The catalog is QA-specific: E2E, API, unit, performance, security, accessibility, mobile.
It runs as a standard MCP server via npx -y @qaskills/mcp. In Claude one command is enough; other clients take an mcpServers block in their config. The server is listed in the official MCP registry as io.github.PramodDutta/qaskills.
If your catalog lives somewhere other than the public endpoint, you need QASKILLS_API_URL — without it the server falls back to the default address. Worth checking the config up front, especially behind a private network. MIT licensed.
What it helps with
- find a QA skill for your stack without browsing the catalog by hand
- install a Playwright skill straight from the agent chat
- read a skill's content before installing it
- browse skills by category and spot the gaps
- pull the current skill list into your project
Example prompts for the agent
- Search qaskills for API testing skills and show me what's inside
- Install the playwright-e2e skill into this project
- List the skill categories in qaskills

Questions about qaskills
How do I install qaskills in Claude?
Run claude mcp add qaskills -- npx -y @qaskills/mcp. If your catalog runs on a custom address, add the variable: claude mcp add --env QASKILLS_API_URL=<QASKILLS_API_URL> --transport stdio qaskills -- npx -y @qaskills/mcp.
What does qaskills do?
It gives your agent access to a QA skills catalog: search, inspect content, install, and list categories. It works as an MCP server, so you call it from the chat.
Which agents are supported?
Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and other MCP clients. Each has its own connection method.
