publish-mcp-server — Claude Code MCP server: publish your servers
An MCP server that walks you through publishing your own MCP server to the registry. Useful once your server works and needs to go out.
claude mcp add publish-mcp-server -- uvx publish-mcp-serverWhat publish-mcp-server does
It runs through uvx and attaches to the agent as a standard stdio MCP server. From there the publishing happens in conversation: you tell the agent what you built, and it guides the submission steps.
Supported in Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and Gemini CLI. The wiring is the same everywhere — uvx publish-mcp-server in the MCP config.
Without uvx on your machine the server will not start, so check that it is on PATH first. MIT licensed, so you can read the code and change it.
What it helps with
- publish an MCP server to the registry
- prepare a server for submission
- wire the publishing tool into an agent
- follow the submission steps without leaving the chat
Example prompts for the agent
