Prismism — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Prismism lets an agent publish files and documents as shareable links, with access controls and analytics. Use it when a report needs to leave your project workspace.
claude mcp add mcp -- npx -y @prismism/mcp-serverWhat Prismism does
The MCP server sends files, HTML, or Markdown to Prismism and returns a shareable link. Supported formats include PDFs, images, and video. A publication can have password, email, or domain restrictions, along with an expiration time.
Its tools can list your published items, retrieve their details and analytics, change access settings, fetch raw content, or delete an item. Text is returned as UTF-8; binary content comes back as base64. Most tools require a Prismism API key, which you can obtain by registering with prismism_register. The hosted endpoint avoids local setup. For the local npx option, you need Node.js 18+ and npm or npx; without an API key, protected actions such as publishing won’t work.
What it helps with
- publish a PDF or report as a shareable link
- restrict access with a password or an email allowlist
- check analytics for a published item
- retrieve an artifact’s raw content
- change an item’s expiration or delete it
Example prompts for the agent
- Publish this report so I can share it by link.
- Make this item private and allow access for
[email protected]. - Fetch the content of my artifact
