pixelpanda-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: 38 image tools
Lets your coding agent edit images from chat: crop, compress, cut backgrounds, upscale, and generate product shots.
claude mcp add pixelpanda-mcp -e PIXELPANDA_API_TOKEN=<PIXELPANDA_API_TOKEN> -- uvx pixelpanda-mcpWhat pixelpanda-mcp does
The server exposes 38 tools in three tiers. Local ones run offline with no account: resize_image, crop_image, rotate_image, compress_image, convert_format, merge_images, add_watermark, blur_image, adjust_image, get_image_info and more. Nothing to sign up for.
Four AI tools sit in the middle tier at 3 uses per day: background removal to transparent PNG, 2x or 4x upscaling through Real-ESRGAN, text and watermark removal with OCR plus inpainting, and image analysis covering objects, colors and composition. The paid tier spends credits per call — product photos and scenes, try-on with an avatar, text-prompt editing on FLUX Kontext Pro, video from a still. Bookkeeping calls like check_credits and check_job_status cost nothing.
PIXELPANDA_API_TOKEN matters only for the paid tools; local and free AI calls keep working without it. The server starts as uvx pixelpanda-mcp, so uv has to be on your machine first.
What it helps with
- resize a photo to exact pixel width
- compress an image to WebP with a quality setting
- cut the background out of a product shot
- upscale a small image 2x or 4x
- stitch three screenshots into one image
Example prompts for the agent
- Resize
photo.jpgto 800px wide - Remove the background from
product.png - Upscale this image 4x
