Pitwall — F1 Data for Claude Code: Claude Code MCP server
This MCP server gives Claude F1 results, timing, telemetry, strategy data, and race history. Use it to investigate sessions and compare drivers.
claude mcp add pitwall -- uvx f1pitwallWhat Pitwall — F1 Data for Claude does
Pitwall connects Claude to Formula 1 data through MCP tools. It can answer questions about race classification, lap times, tyre use, pit stops, weather, race control, and live session timing. Historical results and championship standings go back to 1950.
The full setup exposes 79 tools, including driver comparisons, telemetry analysis, speed charts, and gear-shift maps. A lighter setup has 30 tools and leaves out pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and FastF1, while keeping the live-timing tools.
The command-based setup requires uv. Core data needs no API key or account, but the server will not start without uv.
What it helps with
- check a race winner and final classification
- compare two drivers’ lap telemetry
- break down tyre stints and pit stops
- locate safety-car periods in a race
- plot speed traces for selected laps
Example prompts for the agent
- Who won the 2025 Australian Grand Prix?
- Compare Verstappen and Hamilton telemetry on the same lap.
- Show Ferrari’s tyre choices and pit-stop sequence.
