Pidgeon — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Supplies AI agents with custom inboxes to receive emails, parse signup codes, and send replies. Helpful when automating registrations or handling inbound threads.
claude mcp add mcp -e PIDGEON_API_KEY=<PIDGEON_API_KEY> -- npx -y @pidgeon-ai/mcpWhat Pidgeon does
Pidgeon exposes email workflows to assistants via the Model Context Protocol. It allows an agent to generate new addresses, inspect entire threads, search messages, and send outbound mail. The await_message tool listens for incoming traffic and automatically isolates verification codes alongside confirmation links.
You can connect to the hosted endpoint at https://pidgeon.ai/api/mcp via OAuth or an API token, or run the local package via npx using @pidgeon-ai/mcp. Local execution demands Node.js and a valid PIDGEON_API_KEY credential. Without proper authentication, endpoints reject calls with HTTP status 401.
What it helps with
- Extract verification codes and activation links from inbound emails
- Generate dedicated email inboxes for automated agents
- Draft replies and manage conversational threads
- Inspect text attachments inside incoming messages
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a new email address and wait for the verification code
- Check our inbox for messages regarding invoice 104 and draft a reply
- Read the attachment from the latest incoming email
