ParseStream — Claude Code MCP server: brand mentions and reply drafts
Finds mentions of your brand on Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora and Hacker News, scores them, and drafts replies. Useful when you need to see what people are saying.
claude mcp add --transport http parsestream https://mcp.parsestream.com/mcpWhat ParseStream does
The server gives your assistant access to ParseStream data. Ask what came up about your brand this week, which mentions look like someone comparing tools, pull one up in full, and get a draft you edit and send yourself. Posting is not part of it: no tool here publishes to Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora or Hacker News, and none contacts anyone.
It runs remotely, so there is nothing to install or keep running locally — you need a URL and an API key. Transport is Streamable HTTP and stateless, so no session stays alive. Keys start with ps_live_, are created under Brand Settings → API Keys, and are shown once. A key is tied to a single brand: the server decides whose data you get from the key itself, never from call arguments. A second brand means a second key and a second MCP entry under a different name.
The budget is 100 requests per minute per key, shared with the Mentions REST API. Every JSON-RPC call counts, tools/list on connect included; go over and you get a 429 with a Retry-After header. History covers a rolling 30-day window. In Claude, keep -s local — the -s project scope writes your key in plaintext into .mcp.json at the repo root, a file people usually commit, so a live key lands in git history.
What it helps with
- see what was written about your brand this week
- spot mentions from people shopping for a tool
- open a specific post or thread in full
- get a reply draft for a mention
- connect a second brand with its own key
Example prompts for the agent
- What did people say about my brand on Reddit and Hacker News this week?
- Show mentions that look like tool shopping and open the newest one in full
- Draft a reply to this LinkedIn mention

Questions about ParseStream
How do I install ParseStream in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http parsestream https://mcp.parsestream.com/mcp, then restart the client. Put your ps_live_... key in the Authorization header or read it from an environment variable. Check the connection with claude mcp list.
What does ParseStream do?
It collects brand mentions from Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora and Hacker News, scores relevance and buying intent, and returns a reply draft on request. It does not send messages.
Can I connect two brands at once?
Yes, but a key covers one brand. Create a second key in Brand Settings and add it as a separate MCP server under another name. Revoking a key cuts off access right away.
