ASO Atlas — Claude Code MCP server: App Store keyword data
Wires ASO Atlas into your agent: search popularity, ranks across 59 storefronts and App Store Connect numbers. Handy when metadata edits sit next to the code.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://asoatlas.com/mcpWhat ASO Atlas does
ASO Atlas runs as a hosted MCP server at https://asoatlas.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. Read tools surface what your account already holds: tracked apps, visibility movement, a metadata breakdown per storefront, an App Store Connect digest. Keyword research is separate — up to 50 terms at a time with a difficulty score and result counts, autocomplete ideas, plus a reverse lookup showing what any App Store app ranks for.
Writes touch your ASO Atlas account and nothing else; the store listing stays as it is. You can start or stop tracking an app, add keywords and competitors, move an app to another storefront, queue a fresh rating check, save a title or subtitle draft for the optimizer. Each tool declares readOnlyHint, destructiveHint and openWorldHint, and the destructive ones state in their description that ranking history goes with them.
An ASO Atlas account with an active subscription is required. Regular clients sign in through OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. Headless setups — containers, an agent on a server — never receive the OAuth callback, so they need a personal access token instead: create one in the account settings and pass it in an Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN header.
What it helps with
- pull difficulty scores for a batch of terms before rewriting metadata
- see which queries a rival App Store app ranks for
- spot missing terms in a title and subtitle for one storefront
- chart a daily App Store Connect metric
- add competitors and read the keyword gap
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me which queries this App Store app ranks for
- Check the metadata for the US storefront and list the terms I am missing
- Track these keywords and queue a fresh rank check

Questions about ASO Atlas
How do I install ASO Atlas in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http aso-atlas https://asoatlas.com/mcp. For the bundled skill that teaches the agent how to read popularity and difficulty, install the plugin: claude plugin marketplace add asoatlas/mcp, then claude plugin install aso-atlas@asoatlas-mcp.
What does ASO Atlas do?
It gives your agent access to your ASO Atlas account: keyword research, rank tracking, metadata analysis, competitor gaps and an App Store Connect digest. Writes change the account only, never the store listing.
OAuth or a personal access token?
OAuth 2.1 with PKCE works for clients running on your own machine. A client on a server or in a container cannot receive the callback, so create a personal access token in the account settings and send it in the Authorization header.
