OTInstaller Registry — Claude Code MCP server: search OSINT tools

Lets your agent search the OTInstaller catalog of OSINT tools and investigation guides. Read-only, so it works as a reference while you pick a tool.

What OTInstaller Registry does

The server connects to https://api.otinstaller.com/mcp and exposes search over the OTInstaller registry: OSINT tools and investigation guides, each with consent classes. It reads only. Nothing gets installed or executed through it.

The registry itself is a separate thing. ot installs signed packages and runs them in a sandbox, which needs Docker or Podman. otlite skips Docker but stays on Linux and macOS. The MCP server carries none of those requirements, since all it does is query the catalog.

Setup in Claude is a single command and no API key. Behind a proxy or a private mirror, configure that in your environment rather than on the install line.

What it helps with

  • find an OSINT tool for a specific task
  • browse the investigation guides in the registry
  • check a tool's consent class before running it
  • look for a replacement when a tool stops working

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search the OTInstaller registry for tools that take an email address
  • What investigation guides does the catalog have?
  • Show the consent class for this tool
