OTInstaller — Claude Code MCP server: OSINT tools in a sandbox

The ot CLI installs and runs OSINT utilities from the OTInstaller registry inside a container with no access to your files. Agents ask before any run aimed at a target.

What OTInstaller does

Think of ot as a package manager scoped to OSINT. A single command handles install, run, update or removal for tools listed in the OTInstaller registry, so you skip cloning repos and pinning Python versions. Every tool shares one set of typed inputs, executes in a container that cannot read your files, and returns results in the same JSON shape.

Drop the ot binary (or ot.exe) on your PATH and run ot doctor to check the machine. Finding and running a tool is plain: ot search email lists candidates, ot run osintverse-community/holehe e:[email protected] executes one. Runs land in ./results; ot runs <run-id> opens a specific one. ot auto [email protected] picks every installed tool that accepts an email address.

Wiring it to an agent takes ot mcp install claude — or cursor, codex, other clients — which registers ot's MCP server. Any run that touches a target needs your confirmation first. For scripts and CI, --json or OT_OUTPUT=json yields JSON with one-line errors on stderr, and ot stays silent when there is no terminal. ot self-update checks a release signature before upgrading.

What it helps with

  • install an OSINT tool without cloning its repo
  • execute a tool isolated from your own files
  • get run output in one JSON format
  • hook an OSINT toolkit into an AI agent over MCP
  • sweep an email address across several tools at once

Example prompts for the agent

  • Register the ot MCP server in Claude with ot mcp install claude
  • List OSINT tools that handle email using ot search email
  • Run ot auto [email protected] and summarize what each tool returned

Questions about OTInstaller

How do I install OTInstaller in Claude Code?

Put the ot binary on your PATH, then run ot mcp install claude to add the MCP server to the client. ot doctor verifies the setup.

What does OTInstaller do?

It installs, runs and updates OSINT tools from the OTInstaller registry. Each one executes in a container cut off from your files and writes results to a shared JSON schema.

Does the agent ask before running a tool?

Yes. ot requests approval for any run that touches a target. Without a terminal there are no prompts, which is why --json exists for automation.
