omen — Claude Code MCP server: code analysis and setup
omen analyzes code complexity, unfinished stubs, and comments that flag technical debt. Use it to surface problem areas in a repository.
claude mcp add omen -- docker run -i --rm ghcr.io/panbanda/omen:3.0.0What omen does
The server gives an AI assistant findings about a codebase, including complex logic, debt markers such as TODO and FIXME, and unfinished implementations. Stub detection uses tree-sitter AST analysis rather than matching keywords in text, so trigger words inside string literals are not treated as stubs.
Stub checks can run in CI: omen stubs --gate error makes the check fail when stubs are found. A severity threshold is configurable. The documented launch uses Docker and the image ghcr.io/panbanda/omen:3.0.0. MCP setup commands are provided for Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI; Cursor uses a configuration entry.
What it helps with
- identify functions with complex logic
- collect comments that flag debt, bugs, or missing requirements
- find unfinished implementations in a codebase
- fail CI when stub code is detected
Example prompts for the agent
- Analyze this repository and show the areas with complex logic.
- Find unfinished implementations and group them by severity.
- Check the code for
TODO,FIXME, andSECURITYcomments.
