What nx-console does

This MCP server exposes an Nx monorepo to AI tools. It inspects workspace architecture, project relationships, and task targets. The agent reads project boundaries directly.

Under the hood, the server runs via the nx-mcp package over stdio. It supplies LLMs with generator schemas and official Nx documentation. Node.js with npx is strictly required. Without npx in your system path, the server fails immediately.

What it helps with

  • feed monorepo architecture and project graphs into an AI assistant
  • supply generator schemas for accurate workspace scaffolding
  • access official Nx documentation directly inside coding prompts

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show the project dependencies for the web application in our Nx workspace.
  • Which Nx generator should I run to scaffold a new utility library?
