nuxt-i18n-mcp — Nuxt MCP server: what it does, how to install
An MCP server that lets your coding agent manage translations in Nuxt projects: spot missing keys, drop dead ones, rename across every locale.
claude mcp add nuxt-i18n-mcp -- npx -y nuxt-i18n-mcpWhat nuxt-i18n-mcp does
The server exposes your project's translations to an agent. It reports which keys are still untranslated, which no longer appear in code, and can rename a key across all locales and layers in one go. Everything runs on @the-i18n-kit/cli, the same library behind the terminal tool.
Because @the-i18n-kit/nuxt publishes the layer graph Nuxt has already resolved, the server knows where a key came from in a monorepo and where it is used in the wrong place. It starts through npx, so there is nothing to install globally.
On a Nuxt app with several locales this replaces a lot of manual file-by-file checking — you ask the agent what is missing instead. If your translations live in a single file with no layers, expect less out of it.
What it helps with
- find keys that no locale has translated yet
- remove dead keys left behind after a refactor
- rename a key across all locales and layers at once
- check translation coverage per locale
- trace which layer a key came from in a monorepo
Example prompts for the agent
- List the translation keys missing from the
delocale - Find dead i18n keys and show where they are still referenced
- Rename the key
home.hero.titlein every locale
