What mushroomdb does

mushroomdb gives an agent MCP access to a graph database stored on disk. The agent can save facts, retrieve or remove them, explain why two entities connect, and inspect links from an earlier date or Git commit. You define relationship rules, such as matching a property or checking how lists overlap. When entity properties change, the database recalculates affected links and removes ones that no longer qualify.

Queries can also preview the links a change would add or remove, and access can vary by caller role. Vector rules require embeddings that you supply. The working graph stays in memory, only one writer can operate at a time, and interactive transactions are unsupported. That rules out projects that depend on concurrent writers or interactive transaction workflows.

What it helps with

  • store facts about entities for an agent
  • derive graph links from declared rules
  • find the rule and evidence behind a connection
  • preview a property change before saving it

Example prompts for the agent

  • Remember that project Atlas uses PostgreSQL.
  • Find the saved facts about project Atlas.
  • Explain why these two entities are connected.

Questions about mushroomdb

How do I install mushroomdb in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add mushroomdb -- npx -y mushroomdb to add mushroomdb as an MCP server.

What does mushroomdb do?

It gives agents access to a graph database where rules determine links between entities. Agents can store and retrieve facts, inspect past links, and ask for the basis of a relationship.

Do vector rules include embeddings?

No. You need to provide the embeddings used by vector rules.
